We all have to die—we’re like water spilled out on the ground that can’t be gathered up again. But God doesn’t take life away; instead, he makes plans so those banished from him don’t stay that way.  2 Samuel 14:14 CEB

God doesn’t take life away; instead, he makes plans so that those banished from him don’t stay that way.

This is really good news.  This comforts me.

Banishment happens, and that isn’t particularly comforting, is it?  We all have to die, and most of us don’t enjoy thinking about that, do we?  These are uncomfortable truths.

But it comforts me to know that God’s tone, his heartbeat, the desires of his heart, include plans so that banished people don’t “stay that way”.  I love that.
