3 “Happy are people who are hopeless, because the kingdom of heaven is theirs. 4 “Happy are people who grieve, because they will be made glad. 5 “Happy are people who are humble, because they will inherit the earth. 6 “Happy are people who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, because they will be fed until they are full. 7 “Happy are people who show mercy, because they will receive mercy. 8 “Happy are people who have pure hearts, because they will see God. 9 “Happy are people who make peace, because they will be called God’s children. Matthew 5:3-9, CEB
I’ll finish my devotionals this month with one more happiness recommendation I found in a garbage internet article. I mean, why not, right? It says to take time each day to pray and/or meditate in silence. Dang. That’s like, my least favorite thing to do. I’ve been told this focuses your attention and lowers your stress, particularly if you take deep breaths and all that. I promise to work on this.
Today, you can work on it too. Take those 2 or 3 minutes you would use reading a normal-length devotional and take some deep breaths in silence. See if that’s a habit you could get behind.
